Export Jama Connect data to a ReqIF file
Export items, relationships, and other objects from Jama Connect to a ReqIF file.
You can export the following types of datasets from Jama Connect:
Container or location-based data sets such as sets, components, or an entire project
Baselines
Filters
To export data to a ReqIF file:
On the Conversations page, select an existing conversation to use for the export, or create a new conversation. For more information, see Create a new ReqIF conversation.
In the conversation, select the Export tab, then in the Export settings section, select Edit to open the Configure Export Settings wizard.
Select Confirm to verify the location update.
On the Export method page, select the Jama Connect container, baseline, or filter that contains the sets you want to export.
If you selected Container, add or remove sets as needed, then select Save.
The sets are selected and the wizard closes. On the Export tab, data mapping fields are automatically generated on the lower half of the page. This process can take a few minutes to complete, depending on the size and complexity of the export.
On the Fields tab, set the ON/OFF toggle to OFF for any field values you don't want to export, then select Save.
If your export contains multiple item types, repeat this step for each item type listed in the left navigation bar.
On the Relationships tab, set the ON/OFF toggle to OFF for any item types you don’t want to export, then select Save.
Select Initiate Export to start the export.
Select the Logs tab to check the status of the export.
A download link to the generated ReqIF or ReqIFz file is displayed in the log when the export is complete.
Select the link to download the ReqIF or ReqIFz file to your computer.
Note
If the exported items contain embedded attachments (including embedded images and links to non-image files), a ReqIFz file is generated and includes both the ReqIF file and the accompanying attachments. To be included in the export, attachments must be embedded directly in an item's HTML field. Files that are linked to the item via the attachments widget aren't included in the export
If the exported items don’t contain attachments or embedded images, a ReqIF file is generated.
