Configure relationship syncing
In addition to syncing items between Jama Connect and Jira, you can also sync relationships or links between items. For example, if an Epic/Parent link is established between two items in Jira and these two items are synced to Jama Connect, a corresponding upstream/downstream relationship can be created.
As long as both items in the relationship belong to the same integration dataset, any relationships added or removed in one system can be reflected in the other system.
The following types of links in Jira can be reflected as relationships in Jama Connect, and vice versa:
Epic/Parent links — In Jira, Epics can have one or more Jira issues (stories, defects, etc.) linked to them as children. If your integration includes both the Epics and their children, these Epic/Parent links can be synced to Jama Connect as upstream/downstream relationships. Conversely, upstream/downstream relationships created in Jama Connect can be synced to Jira as Epic/Parent links.
Issue (sibling) links — In Jira, issues can also be linked to each other as siblings, using the Links section in the Jira issue. You can sync these sibling links to Jama Connect as upstream/downstream relationships, and vice versa.
To configure relationship syncing:
On the Integrations page, select the link for the integration you are updating.
Select the Relationships tab.
In the Sync Parent Links section, select options to sync relationships in Jama Connect to Epic/Parent links in Jira. This type of relationship sync can only occur if Jira Epics are mapped on the Field Mappings page.
